2 Contract Details

2.1 Title

Supply of Individual Portion Ice Cream Tubs

2.2 Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a suitable Supplier to supply and deliver a range of individual portion pre-packed ice cream tub products to its Venue Cymru and Theatr Colwyn establishments.

Answers: As detailed in the Specification document, the supply is for ice cream tubs that contain vanilla, strawberry and variable flavour ice creams and not just for the packaging. The answers to your questions can be found in the Specification document, summarised below: Answer to Q1) Conwy County Borough Council supports the use of packaging that is capable of further use or recycling whilst maintaining the integrity of the ice cream product inside. It is a requirement that the ice cream tub products are contained in recyclable tub packaging and have recyclable spoons, or must be contained in tub packaging that can be reused by the Supplier. External packaging must also be reusable to the Supplier or recyclable to minimise negative environmental impact. Answer to Q2) The size / weight / volume of the individual portion ice cream tub products are stated as 120g or 130g as an approximate measurement but must be individual portion sized around this proportion. Answer to Q3) The Ice cream packaging will include information relevant to the ice cream product supplied inside in compliance with relevant legislation referred to the in the Specification. Answer to Q4) Suppliers are informed in the Specification that this Contract will not be for any fixed quantity of any product or any product at all. It is only for such quantities and products that Conwy County Borough Council may order when required. Projected unit quantity information from July 2019 to June 2022 is also provided in the Specification and Suppliers are made aware that the information is intended as a guideline only. The Contract duration is three (3) years, unless the Contract is terminated in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract or otherwise lawfully terminated. Conwy County Borough Council also has the option to extend the Contract for a further period of one (1) year plus one (1) year, so the maximum possible term is five (5) years if the optional extension periods are applied.
