Description of the contract
The client is awarding a 3 year contract for the Welsh Government's Investor Programmes. The key objective of the Investor Ready programme is to offer accessible and tailored financial expertise and experience to Welsh Food & Drink businesses. The programme aims are to support Welsh Food & Drink businesses in developing robust financials (including financial models to support business strategy, management information systems and range of other financial and commercial advice), enabling those businesses to obtain investment and take informed sustainable business growth decisions. The Investor Ready programme does not replace any statutory financial duties of the supported businesses
The key delivery areas of the Investor Ready Programme will be -
- Financial Review – assessing the company’s current financial position through the eyes of a would-be investor;
- Management Information Improvement – ensuring that the internal information systems are fit for purpose, provide management with a sound basis for decision making and give confidence to would be investors that the company has good financial controls;
- Exit Strategy – advising the companies of their options and strategy in successfully transferring the business to new hands;
- Investment Selection Guidance – this is reserved for the businesses having immediate and significant investment requirements and involves specialist investment advisers.
- Due diligence – review of WG grant award businesses prior to first Claim
- Capital Investment project proposals – detailed financial and operational support for projects seeking government and commercial support; development assistance for proposal documents with sign-off to accompany applications for support
- Rapid Task Force intervention for businesses in difficulty following referral from Welsh Government Food Division
- Referral and support to other Welsh Government Food Division programmes
