Supply and Installation of Fire Compartmentation & Associated Works Dafen

Description of the goods or services required

Hywel Dda University Health board has a tender requirement for fire stopping & fire door installation contractors registered with a reputable fire stopping organisation, such as FIRAS or similar (as approved by the HDUHB), to supply and install fire compartmentation & associated works within one of its medical records storage facilities at Unit 3, Heol Cropin, Dafen, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, SA14 8QW.

Proposed works, work to include:

Fire compartmentation & associated works within Digital Scanning Room Unit 3, Dafen medical records storage facilities.

The HDUHB will only engage competent persons to carry out this work, therefore contractors will be mindful that a competent person is one who can demonstrate one of the following:

1.Has demonstrated to be part of a certification body running a UKAS accredited ‘Competent Persons’ scheme to EN ISO 17024:2003 (Personnel Certification) competence in the installation of passive fire protection.

2.Works for a third party certificated installer under the conditions of that scheme.

3.Works for a company operating a company based ‘Competent Person’ scheme certificated against EN 45011 by a certification body accredited by UKAS

4.All fire stopping works and fire door installations must be undertaken by operatives who are individually accredited to FIRAS or similar (approved by the HDUHB Fire Safety Team). No sub-contractors can be used, blanket certification will not be accepted.

All contractors will be expected to visit site and undertake a full detailed survey and provide HDUHB with an approved/certified solution.
