The Knap Skatepark Sewer replacement and Access Works

Description of the goods or services required

The Vale of Glamorgan Council (“the Council”) requires works to replace a damaged section of Welsh Water sewer (“the Works”) beneath the proposed location of a new bespoke in situ concrete skate park at Cold Knap Park, Barry.

The Works include the following activities.

• Construct new access route to skatepark to facilitate works and provide a permanent accessible access path.

• Modifications to park boundary walls to accommodate access

• Replace damaged section of sewer and reinstate

• Make all necessary connections to existing sewer lines

• All temporary works necessary to facilitate the sewer replacement

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Quotations are sought from contractors experienced in working on sewers and registered with Welsh Water to undertake the sewer replacement works to undertake the technical design and construction of the sewer replacement works along with improvements to the site access in preparation for the main skatepark contract which is due to commence on site in March 2023.

Additional Information

The site is open to be viewed at any time but if contractors wish to visit site with a representative of the Council they may do so. The representative will be available on working days from – Tuesday 3rd January 2023 to Friday 13th January from 10:00am - 15:00pm for appointments to view the site and an appointment can be made with the Principal Landscape Architect Jon Green.
