Flying Start Sessional Care in Cyfarthfa Ward of Merthyr Tydfil

Description of the goods or services required

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC) is seeking quotations from experienced childcare organisations to provide part time Flying Start childcare in the Cyfarthfa area of Merthyr Tydfil, to start as soon as possible.

MTCBC wishes to appoint an organisation to offer the funded childcare element of the Flying Start programme in the Cyfarthfa Ward. The current organisation has given notice to withdraw delivery, which has led to the Local Authority seeking a new organisation to take on this exciting opportunity.

The successful organisation will hold a lease agreement with Gellideg Foundation group, the current lease term is 5 years with a break clause included.

The current provider is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) for sessional care for 20 children and sessions run 9.00 am – 11.30am and 12.30pm – 3.00pm

Whilst we are seeking an organisation to specifically deliver Flying Start childcare provision, we encourage interested organisations to consider the wider childcare needs of the local communities including wrap around care, after school/ holiday care and childcare for non-Flying Start children.

Consideration will be given to those applicants who would like to deliver the provision via the medium of Welsh or bilingual childcare.
