Abstract
The next BlasCymru/TasteWales event is being arranged to take place on 25-26 October 2023 (with event ‘build up’ taking place 22 October, an evening VIP Ministerial dinner on 24th October, the main event taking place on 25th and 26th October, and de-rig on 27th October). The event will take place in the International Convention Centre Wales (ICCW), Newport, and the Client has already contracted the required space with this venue, including the Main Hall and various meeting/break-out rooms.
The Client has committed to BlasCymru/TasteWales taking place biennially and for this event to be positioned as our ‘Premier’ Wales Signature Event for the food and drink industry. The October 2023 event will provide a high-profile platform to showcase the Welsh food and drink industry to a national and international audience and deliver our commitments in the ‘Vision for the Food & Drink Industry from 2021’ to build on the significant growth in the sector in recent years, further develop the global reputation of Wales as a Food Nation and enable our businesses proactively sell their quality food and drink to the rest of the UK and the world.
The overall aim is to deliver a successful and impactful BlasCymru/TasteWales 2023 event. The Client has high expectations and strong ambition to ensure that the 2023 event will build on the unprecedented success of the previous three BlasCymru/TasteWales events and surpass all previous event outputs and outcomes – to support the broader ambition to grow the economic scale, profile and reputation of the Welsh food and drink industry, contributing strongly to Wales’ wider well-being and embed the food and drink industry as a key part of the Foundational Economy in Wales.
The Client is eager to build on the industry’s success and promote the further growth of this vital foundation sector into the next decade. In the Vision document referenced earlier, the promotion of food & drink produced in Wales forms a key part of the pathway to success, and the successful bidder would be expected to embed the values described within the Vision document across all areas of the work.
