ADVERSE WEATHER FORECASTING SERVICES 2023-26

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

The Vale of Glamorgan Council (“the Council”) requires suppliers to provide weather forecasting and other services in order to assist the Council to manage and operate their road network during adverse weather conditions.

This mini-competition is carried out under the Adverse Weather Forecast Services Framework Contract No. WGCD-BU-114-22.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The Council requires real time weather forecast information and support to enable decision making for appropriate precautionary and reactive treatments to be undertaken during the winter months or to undertake advance planning and preparation in advance of severe weather at other times to ensure the effective operation of the transport network.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has declared a Climate and Nature emergency and is committed to working with suppliers that contribute to our journey towards Net Zero Carbon.

Tenders may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than a tender submitted in English.
