2 Contract Details

2.1 Title

Design and Installation Fitness Equipment for St Athans recreation ground (Lougher Place)

2.2 Description of the goods or services required

The Vale of Glamorgan Council (“the Council”) requires works to create an area of fitness equipment with surfacing (“the Works”) at Lougher Place recreation ground, St Athan.

The Works include the following activities.

• Design of new area of fitness equipment

• Groundworks

• Supply and installation of new fitness equipment, surfacing, associated footpaths to the new facility and any other works to complete the designed scheme.

5.1 Additional Information

Legislation has been introduced in Wales for managing surface water on developments larger than 100m2. The Sustainable Drainage (Wales) Regulations 2018 means that this scheme will need to be approved by the Suds Approval Body (SAB) before it can be given the go ahead. https://gweddill.gov.wales/topics/environmentcountryside/epq/flooding/drainage/?lang=en

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has declared a Climate and Nature emergency and is committed to working with suppliers that contribute to our journey towards Net Zero Carbon.
