Commissioning of Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnostic Assessment Services

Description of the goods or services required

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Councils forms part of the regional Integrated Autism Service. The Bridgend Locality Integrated Autism Service forms part of a separate Regional Team with Swansea Bay University Health Board. The commissioning of an assessment service through this tendering process does not include the Bridgend area.

This service forms part of a Wales wide Autism Strategy initiative to develop assessment and support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families.

The Integrated Autism Service currently has a waiting list for assessment and the purpose of this tender is to support the team in reducing the waiting list by Spring 2023.

The Health Board has a requirement is to undertake 76 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for adults.

There may be an additional requirement to undertake up to a further 50 assessments, however this will be subject to the Health Board seeking confirmation of additional funding.
