Abstract
Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a company to conduct an audit to review and update pedestrian fingerpost signage across Conwy County, focusing on four of our priority towns: Llandudno, Llanrwst, Colwyn Bay and Abergele.
Following the audit, the successful bidder will remove and install signage in line with the audit report. New signs will be produced in line with the current fingerpost designs in our towns to complement the existing provision. The style and / or colour of the fingerposts in each of the four towns varies slightly from town to town, and the successful company will need to ensure new fingerposts are produced in line with the correct design for each town. Abergele does not currently have a fingerpost signage scheme, so a new design will need to be created to complement existing provision across the county.

Questions & answers 16/11/2023
1) How can we price up question A5 without undertaking a full survey of the existing signs? We have no details of the existing sign specification or condition of the signs? Ans - The specification contains information of current numbers of fingerposts and signs / arms. Please price for 1 each of the items in the section 9 Price schedule table. Item A6 allows for “Any other costs considered applicable to the specified contract requirements”. 2) How can you compare and score tenderers if they don’t know what they are quoting for in section A5? Ans – The Individual Unit Cost will allow comparison and scoring. 3) It states ‘repainting of new fingerpost signs?...so are there some relatively new signs already on site as we would not need to repaint new signs? Ans – newly installed signs must match the paint work that is already in place. 4) How many local business forums would you expect us to attend so we can quote this accurately. Ans – a minimum of 4, one in each town. If more are required, this will be discussed with Conwy project officers.
