Title
Tender for the Supply of Portable VNIR (Visible and Near-Infrared) Hyperspectral Camera
|

|
Description of the goods or services required
RECTIFI (Reducing Embedded Carbon Through Transformation in Foundation Industries) is an Innovate UK partnership project including EMR, TATA Steel UK, Aggregate Industries, Darlow Lloyd and Swansea University. The project is focused upon improving the quality of obsolete steel, recycled from consumer products such as vehicles and white goods with significant positive implications for the decarbonisation of the steel and aggregate industries by virtue of recycling the materials directly for high quality products.
The RECTIFI project wishes to purchase a portable hyperspectral camera package (i.e., including light source, data handling software) which can measure from the visible into the near infrared (wavelengths from 400-1000nm) to be used for waste sorting (e.g., scrap metal and related wastes). The portability requirement for the camera relates to the need to be able to easily mount the camera on a tripod or camera mount for instance above a sorting table or conveyor belt.
This purchase is externally funded by UKRI (UK Research & Innovation) as part of the Transforming Foundation Industries Challenge.
