Abstract

WLBP Ltd. is a project partner in the Arwain DGC Welsh Government funded. WLBP owns the Farm Assured Welsh Livestock Scheme (FAWL) with 7,200 farmer members across Wales. As well as the FAWL scheme, WLBP also owns the Welsh Organic Scheme. Its certification body, QWFC is accredited by UKAS to ISO 17065 and it certifies farms against the Red Tractor dairy scheme, the Welsh Government’s QU scheme, bolt-on schemes for UK retailers as well as the FAWL and organic schemes. WLBP membership covers 70% of the sheep breeding flock, 70% of the beef breeding herd and circa 90% of the dairy herds in Wales. High standards of Animal Health and Welfare, Food Safety and the Environment are the three pillars that underpin the FAWL scheme. WLBP have been actively involved and engaged with the veterinary profession since the inception of the schemes, encouraged their members to work more closely with their vets and have been successful in obtaining funds to support animal health planning and biosecurity projects in the past. WLBP and QWFC are currently focused on delivering IT tools for FAWL members to enable more and better data to be collated about Welsh agriculture to evidence high standards of production and contribute to more efficient livestock management. Specification A tender is invited to deliver the enhanced development of the analysis and reporting platform that allows individual Vet Practices / Farmers in Wales to analyse and evaluate the outcome of the Annual Health and Welfare Review. Full specification is available on the Additional Documents.
