Research contract for which the main purpose of the proposed research is to generate robust, inclusive, and representative evidence on citizen perspectives regarding democratic change in Wales, particularly in the context of the 2026 Senedd election and associated reforms. This includes:

1. Understanding public awareness of Senedd reform changes and its objectives.

E.g. this could include how confident the public feel about engaging in democratic processes, availability of accessible information

2. Exploring public attitudes towards Senedd reform changes and how these may differ over time as changes to Senedd reform are implemented.

E.g., this could include attitudes on trust, representation, ability to influence and contribute to change, perceptions of relevance and impact.

3. Exploring whether changes as part of Senedd reform influence citizens democratic engagement.

4. Identifying barriers and enablers to democratic participation, particularly amongst marginalised and underrepresent groups.

This research project will be used to inform future policy and engagement strategies by providing actionable insights into how citizens experience and perceive democratic change.
