WCBC's Schools ICT Support Service is looking to tender for the services of an Apple Solutions Expert who has significant experience in the Education sector and in large-scale iPad and Apple technology deployments.
WCBC schools ICT Support Service provide a comprehensive support package to all schools in Wrexham covering three key areas which are:-

Dimension:
The Schools ICT Support Service forms part of the Education Effectiveness and Infrastructure service within Wrexham’s Education department. Service scope:
- 70 schools incorporating 9 Secondary schools, 1 Special school, 1 Nursery and 59 Primary schools.
- A single Active Directory with 18,000 pupils users and about 2,500 teachers.
- Managed CISCO WiFi network providing coverage across all schools with each school having its own GUEST and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) services available.
- Approximately 6000 end user devices including desktops and laptops alongside 80+ AD servers
- A Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution (Airwatch currently) is provided to all schools through the SLA, we currently manage 4000+ iPads across the 72 school sites.
- Schools web filtering is provided through a centrally managed Smoothwall infrastructure
Key requirements from a partner are:-
- Must be an Apple Solutions Expert in Education with experience of large-scale deployments in schools with routes to accredited Apple Training for school/schools technical team. Also to provide consultancy, training, ongoing support as a minimum.
- Procurement - Must be able to provide the full range of Apple Technologies
- Be able to provide curriculum support to schools on the use of iPad and Apple Apps for Education
- Provide a range of training options including:
a. Technical Administration and Deployment training including accreditation
b. Curriculum training for schools
c. Training for schools devolved admins
- Provide “Class Sets” of iPads that realise savings over individual purchases to include devices and appropriate charging / storage solutions.
- Ability to provide Project Launch - Work with WCBC to provide marketing and introductory sessions to launch our new / extended project with schools
- Ability for other services for example:
a. At least 2 Technology events each year
b. Offer parental contribution schemes or 1:1 schemes
