Swansea University (the University) is seeking to appoint a Contractor to provide Security Services. The Contractor will predominantly provide Security at the Science & Innovation Bay Campus (SAIBC). The Contractor will also be required to provide security services at other Swansea University locations as required by the University.
The Contractor’s staff will work alongside the University’s own internal security staff at the SAIBC and at other locations as required.
The Contractor must comply with the Private Security Industry Act 2001 and its regulations, good practice as outlined by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and all relevant government legislation.
The University places a high priority on professionalism and seeks to appoint a Contractor to provide the service in a safe, competent and cost-effective manner and provide a high level of security and customer care, which causes the minimum disruption to the University, its students, staff and visitors.
The services are to be provided generally 24 hours per day, all year round as per the schedules outlined later. There may be a need for services at other times and days including weekends as specified by the University from time to time e.g.: open days, graduation ceremonies.
The University will on occasion require additional security staff on-site within two hours from the point the request is made.
This procurement is being undertaken in accordance with Section 7 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, also known as the 'Light Touch' regime under the EU Procurement Directives.
