Aberystwyth University (the ‘University’) wishes to procure a supplier to provide a high sensitivity beta counter for measurement of small volumes of naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM). The procurement will be by a process of competitive quotation.

The item must meet the specifications listed, including the capability to undertake measurements on all the sample types described in Item 3b within the RFQ.

Supplier must have proven record of using the proposed instrument for determining dose rate for luminescence dating.

Additional Information

A total budget of £41,450 (approximately 49,550 euros) is available for this instrument. VAT of 20% must be paid from this budget on any bid, and it must also include any shipping costs. Thus approximately 41,290 euros is available for the bid. Bids up to this total will score full marks. Those exceeding this amount will lose 10% of the marks for each 500 euro over this total.
