Description of the goods or services required

The project involves the design and construction of a new primary school and integrated community centre in Bontnewydd, Gwynedd. Both the buildings and the process of construction will be exemplars in sustainability and innovative design. We are seeking tenders for the provision of the services of Lead Consultant and Contract Administrator for this project.

The project will also require the design and construction of temporary school and community facilities to maintain all services on site during the construction process.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

Gwynedd has a strong programme of achieving Community Benefits through its schools construction projects. This includes training and work experience in all areas of the project which we expect to be offered by all the main consultants on the project, in addition to the main contractor and sub-contractors. You should indicate in your Quality submission how you propose, as lead consultant, to lead the work on this element

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
