Commissioning of Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment Services

Description of the goods or services required

To undertake Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic assessments for adults.

The Integrated Autism Service currently has a waiting list for assessment and the purpose of this tender is to support the team in reducing the waiting list by Autumn 2022. However, an initial phase will focus on the need for 20 assessments to test this new approach for CTMUHB IAS service, with an option to extend subject to health board review and funding availability. The service would be capped at 80 patients. All assessments will need to be undertaken via a digital platform and the successful tender will need to ensure that they adhere to CTMUHB cyber essential policy, further information can be found on the eTendering portal in Volume 2 of the specification.

Minimum standards and qualification required

All assessments will need to completed in line with NICE Guidelines in relation to assessments of autism in adults.

Assessors must have obtained registration within one of the following:

NMC (Nursing)

HCPC (OT & SaLT)

RCP (Psychiatry)

BPS (Psychology)
