Backing Local Firms: grants to reduce carbon in the built environment

Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Government wants to support local suppliers and assist them to become skilled in areas that will contribute to carbon reduction in the built environment.

A competitive grant scheme is being run across Wales covering five separate regions – South East, South West, Mid Wales, North East and North West Wales, each region will have one successful grant recipient of up to £29,000.

The following are examples of the kinds of areas to consider:

· Reducing carbon emissions

· Creating high quality employment and fair work

· Improving skills base / training

· Developing innovation and entrepreneurship

· Developing automation/digitalisation

· Business to business collaboration / forming consortia

Federation of Master Builders, operating on behalf of the Welsh Government, is administering a grant scheme to business within the building and building engineering sphere that will assist them to develop new skills and enhance existing skills, contributing to carbon reduction in the built environment.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

· An existing Welsh SME

· Working within the built environment

· Be able to demonstrate their main operational presence is within Wales

Applications will only be accepted through the electronic submission of the supplied application form. This must be sent using the secure post box function on sell2wales.gov.wales. Applications received by any other means, or after the stated deadline, will be disregarded.

Applicants should note that the amount of funding available is limited to a maximum of £29,000 per region and it is a competitive process.

Award decisions will be made 100% based on the information provided [up to 300 words] of how you plan to use the funding, the benefits of receiving the funding to your business and to the wider economy
