Abstract

The Welsh Government wants to support local suppliers and assist them to become skilled in areas that will contribute to carbon reduction in the built environment. A competitive grant scheme is being run across Wales covering five separate regions – South East, South West, Mid Wales, North East and North West Wales, each region will have one successful grant recipient of up to £29,000. The following are examples of the kinds of areas to consider: · Reducing carbon emissions · Creating high quality employment and fair work · Improving skills base / training · Developing innovation and entrepreneurship · Developing automation/digitalisation · Business to business collaboration / forming consortia Federation of Master Builders, operating on behalf of the Welsh Government, is administering a grant scheme to business within the building and building engineering sphere that will assist them to develop new skills and enhance existing skills, contributing to carbon reduction in the built environment.
