Description of the goods or services required
This commission requires the implementation of high-level interpretation at key sites across the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales World Heritage Site, in order to represent and create the unified narrative of the Designation in the six components (areas), and convey relevant stories and content for each of the components (areas) and / or sites by following the topics and themes of the Interpretation Strategy.
Commission Requirements:
1. Use the Wales Slate Interpretation Strategy (2019) and identify high level interpretation opportunities for Hubs, Sprockets and Spoke sites identified in the strategy, and for any other site that has become apparent since completion of the strategy in 2019.
2. Create interpretive content to convey the unified WHS narrative for inclusion in interpretive materials - physical and virtual.
3. Share content with World Heritage Site partners and agree the most appropriate interpretive medium for each site / partner, for example, panel, banners, digital etc.
4. Agree high-level interpretation content and medium for Hubs, Sprockets and Spoke Centres in agreement with designated officers and site owner / manager.
5. Design the interpretation and identify innovative and meaningful methods for engaging effectively with a wide audience, including children, people who are aware of the history, and others who are not.
6. Ensure that interpretation content conveys health and safety messages, both in terms of site access and site information that are not open to the public.

8. Prepare all final work bilingually (Welsh and English). Translation work will need to be completed by a member of the Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters, and any costs associated with translation will be part of this commission.
9. Make sure the information is factually correct and use correct terms. This can be checked with the Wales Slate Team.
10. Obtain copyright for images and / or audio clips used.
11. Manage and oversee agreements to create and install interpretation media across the WHS, securing any site owners / planning permission and other related rights.
