To Providers of Support Services for Unpaid Carers.
Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC would like to invite potential providers to a workshop to help shape the future services provided to unpaid carers living in Rhondda Cynon Taff. Our current service model is to provide a ‘sitting’ service for the individual requiring support, to enable the unpaid carer a period of respite, the time and frequency of which would vary depending on an individuals assessed need and typically will be to enable the unpaid carer to leave the house to allow a period of respite so they can pursue a personal interest or hobby, which alleviates stress on both the cared for and carer, thus preventing a crises situation and family breakdown. Whilst this type of service will continue under a different arrangement, we are looking to provide a new support service for unpaid carers.
As expertise in this field, we value your knowledge and input in helping us shape a new service for our unpaid carers, and whilst we have some ideas of what we think this could be, which we would like to share with you at the workshop, we felt it essential to work with you, to listen to your ideas in order for us to develop a new service to better meet the needs of our unpaid carers.
Following the workshop, we will then be developing a service specification which will then put out to tender which you will be more than welcome to bid for.
If you are interested in helping us with this invaluable piece of work, could you please register your interest by emailing Yvonne.Powell@rctcbc.gov.uk
