Abstract

Academi Wales is the centre for excellence in leadership and management for public services in Wales. Established in 2012, Academi Wales is part of the portfolio of the Welsh Government Minister for Finance and Local Government. Guided by its Advisory Board and its Minister, the organisation operates in the space between national priorities and local need. Academi Wales seeks to build a future for Wales where leadership of public services is visionary, collaborative, cutting edge and successful in driving improvement in the lives of people living in Wales. To do so, the organisation needs a clear picture of the current landscape which recognises key players and their contribution in terms of leadership development - both in public and third sector. The aim of this contract is to provide a baseline on which Academi Wales can build on to enhance and maximise its offer and ensure strategic alignment. The objective is to develop a hub of knowledge, that will provide a systematic and comprehensive pan-Wales understanding of the strategic landscape of ‘Leadership related’ support available to the public sector and voluntary sector in Wales. This will enable Academi Wales to signpost any organisation that comes to them asking for help in a development opportunity that they may not currently offer. The work is anticipated to be commissioned in Autumn 2022 and completed within 6 months after award. The suppliers will be invited to provide their own approach and types of output that will address the requirement. Innovative and flexible solutions will be encouraged. Cost allocation query
Thank you for registering an interest in this work. Please also provide an indication of cost you would envisage allocating for completing this work, given the definition of the output and the time available to do the work.

We anticipate commissioning the work in Autumn 2022 and envisage completion within 6 months after award. We will invite suppliers to provide their own approach and types of output that will address the requirement. We will encourage innovative and flexible solutions – so the cost will vary based on the approach put forward by each supplier. From our side we are looking for an output (e.g. a map, a hub) that will provide a systematic and comprehensive pan-Wales understanding of the strategic landscape of ‘Leadership development related’ support available to the top three layers of management within the public and voluntary sector in Wales. We will use this output to inform our thinking for the future (enhance and maximise our offer and ensure strategic alignment) and to signpost organisations that come to us for development opportunities that we may not currently offer.
