Total quantity or scope of tender
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
a. Initial Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Ocean Lab building roof to determine its suitability for solar panel installation. Consider factors such as structural integrity, load-bearing capacity, and sun exposure.
b. System Design: Develop a detailed design proposal for the solar panel system, taking into account the building's energy requirements, available roof space, and environmental conditions. Ensure optimal placement and orientation of panels to maximize energy generation.
c. Equipment Procurement: Source high-quality solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, wiring, and other necessary components from reputable manufacturers. The proposed equipment should meet industry standards, ensure long-term performance, and be suitable for coastal conditions.
d. Installation: Execute the installation process in compliance with relevant safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices. Ensure proper mounting, wiring, and integration of the solar panels with the building's electrical system.
e. Electrical Connections: Establish electrical connections between the solar panel system and the building's main electrical distribution system, including inverters, meters, and other necessary equipment. Ensure seamless integration and compliance with electrical safety standards.
f. Commissioning and Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing and commissioning of the installed solar panel system to verify its functionality, performance, and compliance with specified requirements. Provide necessary documentation, certifications, and warranties.
Requirements: Interested contractors must meet the following requirements:
a. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a proven track record in designing and installing solar panel systems, preferably on rooftops. Provide evidence of successfully completed projects of similar scale and complexity.
b. Licensing and Certification: Possess all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications required by local authorities and regulatory bodies to undertake the proposed work.
c. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the use of reliable equipment and adherence to industry standards throughout the project.
d. Safety and Compliance: Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines. Prioritise worker safety and implement appropriate safety protocols.
e. Project Timeline: Provide a detailed project schedule outlining key milestones, deliverables, and estimated completion time. Ensure timely execution and completion of the project.
f. Cost Proposal: Submit a comprehensive cost proposal, including itemized pricing for equipment, installation, testing, warranties, and any additional services or requirements.
Interested contractors should submit their proposals to info@seatrust.org.uk by 31st July 2023. The evaluation process will consider factors such as technical expertise, project approach, past performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with requirements.
