Abstract

CCBC are looking to invite an experienced Meanwhile Space developer to set up a quality Meanwhile Space for a variety of users situated in Bargoed Town Centre within a short time frame. The funding will be provided through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) and therefore proven knowledge and experience of this funding model will be required. The successful applicant will be required to; - Develop a single meanwhile space identified in a previous scoping stage to the point where it is open and operating. - Work must be conducted during the Council’s 2023-4 financial year - Develop a mechanism for letting/licensing in the early stages of the development. - Identify management options for the Meanwhile Space. - Identifying any potential constraints to the work and explore how to mitigate them. - Identify and secure a suitable premise suitable for Meanwhile usage for several users. - Liaise with the landlord to secure the space for a meanwhile use (including the form of lease/license for end-users) - Outfitting the space, ensuring compliancy, to ensure suitability for Meanwhile usage. - Liaise with relevant departments to secure relevant permissions to operate. - Market the Meanwhile Space. - Secure initial short-term users. Subject to further funding for meanwhile spaces the Council may also engage the consultant to develop further meanwhile spaces across the borough over the next three to four years in accordance with rates provided for this work.
