Additional Information
Integrations:
- The disease syndrome technology should link seamlessly to existing individual veterinary Practice Management Systems
Functionality:
- During a consultation period the syndrome technology would allow the user to enter Syndromic data via a Questionnaire
- The technology should allow the ability to capture whether the given complaint affected one or a group of animals
- Once captured, the information needs to be analysed.
Analyses:
- Data would need to be analysed descriptively in the first instance including numbers of consultations captured, species distributions, treatments prescribed.
- Descriptive analyses of free text to include:
- 1) reading and describing a random selection of consultation narratives to understand the nature and quality of data contained.
- 2) text mining to identify a small number of disease exemplars. For example, mastitis, lameness etc. These would be chosen in consultation with stakeholders.
- Harvested data to be sent via API directly to the Wales Veterinary Science Centre (WVSC) for analysis.
