Abstract

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) have a requirement for significant changes in the Initial Education and Training of Pharmacists (IETP). The objective is to create a pipeline of pharmacist registrants capable of independent prescribing at the point of registration by 2026. Progress is rapidly underway across UK Nations to implement these changes and establish a workplace environment that maximizes these enhanced skills within multi-disciplinary teams. Post-registration, RPS has outlined a defined career development pathway for pharmacists.
