Description of the goods or services required
Cardiff Metropolitan University (“The University”) is seeking tenders for a counselling services provider to provide a team of professionally qualified counsellors to supplement the University’s existing provision, via its in-house counselling team, of 1:1 therapeutic interventions to its students.
The service provider will be working with the Student Services Department within the University.
The University currently employs a Counselling Co-ordinator and 4 part-time sessional counsellors to meet the needs of its students over the course of a 32-week academic year. Students complete an on-line triage form and are offered an appointment based on their level of need, with those requiring support most urgently being seen within 1-2 weeks.
Since 2018 the University has contracted for additional counselling hours with an external provider (approximately 1000 hours per academic year). This contract has now ended and we wish to appoint a new service provider to meet the on-going student support requirements.
The University and the successful counselling provider will maintain a good faith dialogue throughout the duration of the contract and will be subject to considerations such as the counselling need and outputs, continued reliable performance of the counselling provider (including positive student feedback) and value for money.
The contract will be put in place for an initial period of 2 years with a potential option to extend for a further 12 months.
