Abstract

Hywel Dda University Health board has awarded a contract for the provision of specialist support to develop a number of technical, commercial and procurement artefacts required to enable the procurement of a electronic patient flow and observation software (“eOBS”), and achieve an efficient contract award and a successful implementation. HDUHB are committed to using eOBS to improve patient safety and outcomes; improve operational efficiency and effectiveness; streamline information sharing ensuring clinical information is available in real time at the point of decision making; utilise technology to provide more time to care. HDUHB requires support with: Engagement with key HDUHB stakeholders to agree on areas of focus, approach, activities to be taken and resource requirements to engage in working group(s). To capture all relevant information and data required to co-develop the Hywel Dda ePMA Full Business Case. Support for the Core Project Team and clinical, technical, operational and infrastructure stakeholders to capture, review and validate the Hywel Dda procurement ready requirements to support the procurement of modern, market leading eObservations and patient flow COTS software. The NHS Shared Business Services (“SBS”) ‘Consult 18’: Multidisciplinary Consultancy Services (SBS/17/SG/ZMC/9266)framework provides a compliant route to source multidisciplinary consultancy services; covering a wide range of specialisms. The preferred contract structure proposed is one that will allow the Health Board to utilise services from one(1) provider.
