Supply of Furniture, Bwthyn y Ddol Phase 2, Colwyn Bay.

Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council wishes to procure a range of furniture to complement and service the new development at Bwthyn y Ddol, Colwyn Bay. Due to the varying nature of the Services being delivered from the site, the furniture requirements may differ depending on the required levels of resilience.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The Council has identified the following levels of resilience for each individual item of furniture:

Level 1 - The furniture is durable, dependable and robust in build quality. These products will be suitable for heavy use areas, such as waiting rooms, breakout areas, offices etc. where strong build quality is essential.

Level 2 - The furniture is safe and secure, robust and strong in build quality and where possible heavy so as to difficult to move. These products should be suitable for fairly challenging environments where there will be heavy usage (e.g. children’s bedrooms, common shared spaces etc). A key component though is that the furniture should retain a homely feel.

A detailed list of the requirements is attached at ‘Appendix 1 – Bwthyn y Ddol Ph. 2 Furniture Specification’, with individual pieces of furniture assigned a level of resilience based upon the above to assist you with your submission.
