Description of the goods or services required

The area around Graiglwyd Road, Penmaenmawr regularly experiences flooding. This is primarily a result of surface water runoff from the upland areas to the south of the town, with residents describing water flowing down from the hillside to the south of the town towards the rear of properties located along Helyg Road and Gwynan Road. These houses are formed as a series of 4 or 6 terraced houses, so accumulated flood water has limited flow routes and properties have flooded as a result.

The works involve but are not limited to:-

• Construction of new ditch at Pen-Y-Coed field

• Increasing the length and depth of existing drain in Pen-Y-Coed field

• Increasing the depth of the ditch adjacent to Graiglwyd Road

• Passing the flows from the ditch adjacent to Graiglwyd Road into an online storage pond at the northern end of Cwm Road

• Construction of new masonry wall on Graiglwyd Rd.

• Re-profile Graiglwyd road to drain into existing drain

• Redirecting existing culverts into the Eastern Drain

• Kerbing, fencing, drainage works.
