Are you an experienced provider of training and support for Local Authority teams? Do you have a detailed understanding of how best to embed person centred approaches within Local Authority and Independent Sector services?
1. Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire Learning Disability teams are looking to establish a joint 5-month Person centred Planning (PCP) training, support and strategic development programme for Local Authority (LA) staff and managers and for staff and Managers from Independent Sector (IS) providers.
This programme is being funded by the North Wales Together Learning Disabilities Transformation Team. Training venues will be provided and participant bookings arranged by the Local Authorities (but in liaison with the training provider)
There is a maximum budget of £15,000 available. The training and support programme is expected to run until 31/03/23.
2. It is anticipated that the programme will include
a. Introductory training
b. Facilitator training (including refresher training for existing PCP facilitators) for LA and IS staff
c. Training on PC tools and approaches
d. Training on person centred approaches to positive risk taking
e. Training on PATH Facilitation
f. Mentoring sessions for PCP specific staff
g. PATH planning with managers & stakeholders from Conwy, Denbighshire & Flintshire (2 Sessions). To create PCP strategic plan listed below (3.g)
3. The anticipated outcomes of this programme will be:
a. People are trained in Person Centred Practices to an appropriate level for their role
b. People are thinking in a person centred way and using person centred tools
c. People are adopting a positive person centred approach to risk
d. The quality of PC reviews is consistent
e. Staff feel confident about PCP and feel supported in their roles
f. More people are using PATHS to help make their vision become a reality
g. There is an agreed approach and the Local Authorities have a long term strategic plan for PCP
4. The successful provider will need to demonstrate a collaborative approach with families and citizens to the delivery of proposed training. They will be required to create opportunities for family involvement as critical partners in the planning process.

Please provide us with the following information by the 25th of November 2022:
a. A proposed training schedule for the period from November 2022 to April 2023. Your proposed schedule should include aims and objectives for the different training sessions.
b. A breakdown of costs for each of the different training sessions (cost per session and optimum number of attendees per session)
c. Costed proposals for mentoring sessions.
d. Details and costs for the PATH planning session with Managers
e. Details of you/your organisation, including your experience of delivering PCP training and supporting organisations along their PCP journey
f. A brief outline of how you intend to involve citizens and/or families in the planning and/or delivery of the programme |
