on the perimeter, around fourteen (14) million emails a month.

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive
Explanation
The product has been in use since 2009 and is heavily configured to meet the Authority’s specialist requirements. MailMarshall is utilised
in many organisations providing groups of rules managed at a national level and applied to all incoming and outgoing messages, as well as
providing the option for each organisation to have a separate set of rules applicable to users within the organisation.
The MailMarshall product not only offers a mail filtering/hygiene capability but also provides a mail relay for all organisations across NHS
Wales.
It is essential that this is procured from the vendor (Trustwave) to manage the Authority’s specialist configuration needs and support to
maintain operational continuity and manage reputational risk for DHCW as the provider of National Services across Wales. In contracting
directly with Trustwave, DHCW will also have direct access to the product group, allowing greater influence on the product roadmap and
the prioritisation of features that benefit NHS Wales. It also provides access to resources to help take advantage of the advanced features of
the platform and deliver greater benefit from the investment.
