Abstract

Monmouthshire is a county located in South East Wales with a population of approximately 92,000. It is a largely rural county, interspersed with four market towns and a number of villages. The largest town in the county is Abergavenny, other towns and large villages are Caldicot, Chepstow, Monnmouth, Magor and Usk. It borders Torfaen and Newport to the west, Hereford and Gloucestershire to the east and Powys to the north. Monmouthshire Council is seeking to establish a single lot framework with a maximum of 3 appointed contractors for the provision of 180 degree rubber wheeled, four wheel drive backhoe loaders with operator (180 degree backhoe excavator). The operator must be able undertake additional highways maintenance duties as part of the framework as outline within the Schedule 1 – Specification. The estimated value of the Framework is £1,000,000, Based on previous spend of Approx. £250,000 for the year ending April 2022 with a total of 8 orders. The Framework will be for an intial period of 36 months with an option to extend for a further 12 months equating to a total Framework length of 48 months (4 Years).
