Abstract

The CAE wishes to contract a suitably qualified, experienced and resourced building Contractor to undertake renovations and refurbishment of our building situated on 28 Oxford Street, Swansea, SA1 3AN. The work is to include the clearance of existing services and fittings and the fitting of new services. The scope of the project will also include some external works. In summary, the work comprises: Renovating ground shop floor into cafe and meeting space Replacement of toilets and sinks Flooring, tiling and wall covering as well as plastering and painting Upgrading of electrical small power, lighting, fire alarm and heating systems Redecoration of rooms across 4 floors (including the basement) The CAE recognises the importance of the Welsh language to the communities it serves. Consequently, responses to an invitation to quote or tender will be accepted in Welsh as well as English. However, please note that tender responses submitted only in Welsh will be translated by the organisation into English before consideration. Those involved in translating the document will be barred from taking decisions on awarding tenders. The tender will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender based on 40% quality and 60% cost. *** The successful Contractor will be required to create an appropriate Schedule of Works (SoW) in conjunction with the IoACC and WAG requirements. The property will need to be visited and surveyed in order to correctly ascertain the scope of the works. Please note that the tender closing date is 14 January 2022 at 1700 and any late submissions will not be considered. Suppliers are advised to allow adequate time for uploading documents and to dispatch the electronic response well in advance of the closing time to avoid any last minute problems.
