Abstract

AgorIP is a 7½ year, c £14 million pan-Wales Programme operating in the West Wales & the Valleys (WW&V) and East Wales (EW) Regions. It is part-funded by the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Priority Axis 1, Research & Innovation to help achieve Specific Objective 1.2 (SO 1.2), which is to translate research and innovation processes into both new and improved commercial products, processes and services. The Programme is also supported by the Welsh Government (WG). AgorIP provides an Open Access Open Innovation Framework to academia across the Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), to University Health Boards (UHBs) and to SMEs in Wales. The AgorIP Operation began on 1st January 2016, originally in WW&V and with an end date at that time of 31st December 2020. The Operation was invited to expand its activities in WW&V and extend into EW, with the expansion agreed as of 9th June 2020 and EW as of 2nd April 2020, running concurrently to 30th June 2023. The WW&V Operation underwent an Inception and Mid-Term Evaluation in 2017 and 2020, respectively and a Final Evaluation of the WW&V and EW pan-Wales Programme is now required to be completed by June 2023.
