Abstract

Wiltshire College is looking to appoint a waste contractor to handle all the waste produced by the Colleges activities.

The Commencement date for the Contract will be on 1.8.2014 until 31.6.2017 for a period of three years, with the option to extend the contract for a further two years subject to satisfactory performance.

The College considers sustainability to be central to all of its activities, and our waste contract has an integral part to play in minimising environmental impact. The College is accredited to ISO14001.

As a College we produced approx. 484 tonnes of waste from our four main campuses last year, recycling approximately 70 %. One of our campuses, Lackham College incorporates a farm and an animal centre, where waste can include fallen stock and deceased animals, as well as expired pesticides and all campuses have small science departments, (which generate chemical waste), hair and beauty, art, vehicle repair departments, electrical and plumbing trades.
