A comprehensive orthopaedic patient management service for Nottingham City GPs covering:

— Triage to the most appropriate secondary care or community service.

— Assessment and treatment.

— Ordering of x-rays and MRI where these haven't been ordered by the referring GP.

— Coordination of orthopaedic pathways.

— Supporting and educating GPs with the management and diagnosis of orthopaedic conditions. The orthopaedic ICATS consists of the following service elements: 1. The low back pain pathway consisting of — Triage service — Integrated Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (ICATS) — Case conference 2. Orthopaedic triage service 3. Hip and knee ICATS.
