Abstract

The provision of medical services to patients waiting for treatment at Kettering General Hospital has a backlog of patients who have been waiting greater than the national treatment target of 18 weeks and a cohort of patients who have been waiting greater than 52 weeks. The Trust requires the provision of medical services to patients waiting for treatment, and the Trust wishes to appoint Medinet to supply to the Trust support for Urology, Ophthalmology and General Surgery services for pre assessment appointments confirming fitness for surgery and then to treat surgically accordingly. This will support the Trust to reduce the number of patients waiting for surgical treatments. Medinet help to reduce waiting times by creating additional capacity to see outpatients and treat day cases and inpatients requiring surgery by providing Consultants who hold substantive NHS consultant posts in other organisations to deliver the required activity.

This contract is awarded under regulation 77, reserved contract:

(6) This regulation does not apply in relation to the procurement of health care services for the purposes of the NHS within the meaning and scope of the National Health Service (Procurement, Patient Choice and Competition) (No. 2) Regulations 2013(10).
