Title
Structural Survey of Three Scheduled and Listed Structures

Description of the goods or services required
Torfaen County Borough Council (TCBC) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to;
1. Undertake a detailed, on-site survey of three scheduled structures /buildings; i. Cwmbyrgwm Chimney ii. British Air Furnace & iii. Cornish Engine House and ascertain their condition and the risk of;
a. Injury to passers-by;
b. Collapse, and/or;
c. Deterioration to the point where restoration would not be feasible (The Cwmbyrgwm Chimney, in particular will require inspection from height as part of the survey)
2. To provide an itemised list of the required urgent works
3. To itemise and cost any urgent works required to make the structures safe.
4. The expected Outputs for this commission are a single report which addresses the issues identified above, including the associated cost plans.

Minimum standards and qualification required
It is essential that applicants have suitable engineering and conservation expertise and suitable conservation and engineering qualifications, such as being members of the Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE), or have the RICS Building Conservation Accreditation which will be assessed through the application process. Applicants must have the ability to provide accurate cost estimates for the proposed works
