Abstract
Bangor University is currently in the process of establishing the Centre for Environmental Biotechnology (CEB) that will deliver a state-of-the-art bioanalytical laboratory. This project will be co-funded by Bangor University and a grant from the ERDF West Wales and the Valleys Operational Programme. The CEB bioanalytical laboratory is looking to establish qualitative and quantitative metabolomic and proteomic capacity for a broad range of small molecule classes and proteomics applications. We require inter alia high resolution analytical mass-spectrometry instruments, high-throughput pipetting and colony-picking robotics, cell sorting instruments, fermentation bioreactors, protein purification workstations, tweezer-microdissector workstation and standard benchtop equipment for microbiology, genomics and protein studies. This procurement is for a Benchtop Microbial Bioreactor (working volume 1-5 L) for cultivation of thermoacidophilic microorganisms integrated with cleaning/sterilisation unit with the option of also procuring a service contract up to 4 years.
