The Midlands Districts Insurance Consortium consists of 8 Councils from Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire who are carrying out a joint tender for insurances. This will include (but not limited to) Property Damage, Terrorism, Casualty, Fidelity Guarantee/Crime, Motor Fleet and Uninsured Loss Recovery, Personal Accident/Travel, Engineering Insurance and Computers.
The 8 Councils have a common renewal date of the 1.7.2019 but have separate polices with different perils, limits of indemnity and excess.
Contracts for each lot will be evaluated as a consortium and the award for each lot will be made to the most economically advantageous bid for each lot against the award criteria.
In addition to conventional insurance approach, the consortium will also be seeking bids on a non-conventional pooled basis.

List and brief description of conditions:
This tender is open only to insurance companies and managing general agents regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and Market Act 2000, Insurance Companies Act 1982 and any other statutory modifications thereof. Insurance companies and MGA’s may provide terms through an intermediary/broker working on an exclusive basis. For the avoidance of doubt this competition does not include a requirement for insurance broking services and placement of coverage will be by Gallagher with the bidding Insurers/MGA and not via the introducing intermediary.

Minimum level(s) of standards required:
Bidders must hold a standard and poor’s rating of BB- or equivalent. In addition bidders must be able to demonstrate a minimum turnover of 15 times the estimated contract value for this procurement (or lot they wish to bid for in this procurement) and must be able evidence a positive net worth if requested to do so.

To gain access to the procurement documents, suppliers will need to register their company details at the above website. Once registered, suppliers will be emailed a login and password which will allow them to gain access to the procurement documents.
