II.2.4) Description of the procurement

In tendering the catering contract, the Trust is looking for potential contractors to demonstrate their experience and expertise to manage the catering team and ensuring that they cook good quality meals from a range of creative and innovative menus, whilst ensuring compliance with government nutritional and food based standards.
The Trust wants the caterer to provide meals that will encourage the Trust community of pupils and staff to make healthy choices and in turn increase the uptake of the meals that are served.
The catering provision will be based at the each of the Trust’s schools which have a purpose-built modern kitchen and shared use dining room. A number of catering staff are employed on Local Authority terms and conditions of employment.
