Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd (DSRL) has awarded a call-off contract as a result of a mini competition through the decommissioning services framework for the Shaft and Silo Advanced Transition Works (ATW); construction of an interim Shaft Facility (Process Cell) that will be subsequently be readily incorporated into the D3300 Main Construction Works.
The ATW is further broken down into the following key areas of scope:
— sequenced demolition of parts of the existing D1225 Shaft Facility;
— construction of an interim Shaft Facility (Process Cell);
— specialist concrete cutting of the Shaft cover slab;
— all necessary service diversions;
— mechanical, electrical and instrumentation installation; and
— upgrade of the control panel and upgrade to associated connections in the control room.
