Description of the contract
To provide agencies with a brief on the requirements of the Women’s Health Implementation Programme in relation to the creation of a brand, website and resources, the aim of which is to encourage teenagers and young people to feel comfortable talking about period health.
To invite agencies to submit proposals against this brief and outline proposal specifications.
The project will work towards meeting recommendations from the Endometriosis Task and Finish Report with the aim of encouraging symptom awareness relating to periods. It will encourage teenagers to feel more confident talking about these symptoms, allowing them to explain their problems clearly to health professionals when necessary.
The specific aims are as follows:
•Provide a Welsh-specific brand and website for information about periods and menstrual health that is aimed predominantly at teenagers and young women.
•Supply clear information on period health in a way that engages the primary audience, using language that is appealing to them.
•Encourage young women to speak freely about periods and related complications, either physical or mental with their peers, family, friends and male relatives.
•Make young people aware of what constitutes ‘normal’ menstrual health to allow them to recognise symptoms.
