Abstract

The Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013 is intended to make it easier for people to walk and cycle in Wales. It also requires both the Welsh Government and Local Authorities to promote walking and cycling when delivering the duties under the Act. Swansea Council has secured funding from the Welsh Government to allow currently National Standards Levels 1 & 2 cycle training to be delivered to 502 Year 5/6 pupils (10/11 year olds) in Swansea. Providing cycle training to school pupils will equip child pedal cyclists with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to encourage them to cycle more often and safer.

Description of the goods or services required

Total quantity or scope of tender

There is a maximum cost per trainee (£53) which will include all associated costs for the delivery of National Standards Cycle Training Levels 1 and 2, guided by the new National Standard for Cycle Training, published by the Department for Transport.

The contract for cycle training will commence on June 7th 2021 and finish on March 31st 2022

Primary schools within Swansea council will finish their academic year mid-July and will not be available to be contacted again until the beginning of September.

— Click on the relevant ITT to access the content.

— Click the “Express Interest” button in the “Actions” box on the left-hand side of the page.

— This will move the ITT into your “My ITTs” page (this is a secure area reserved for your projects only).

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.

— There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).
