II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The BBC is acting on its own and on behalf of its commercial subsidiaries within BBC Commercial Holdings Ltd, including BBC Studios, to conduct a competitive procurement with the intention of appointing 1 service provider for the provision of — air, ferry, international rail booking services.
The service provider will manage the end-to-end process of sourcing, booking and managing the BBC’s spend for air, ferry and international rail travel — as outlined within the tender documents.
The value of the contract covers the maximum total spend over the contracts term, including extensions — incorporating fares, fees to the service provider, in addition to the cost of bookings made by BBC Commercial Holdings Ltd. It is not indicative of what the appointed service provider will be remunerated for their services or what the BBC is committed to spend for air, ferry and international rail travel under the contract.
The value of spend for the contract, is expected to range between GBP 65 750 000 and GBP 92 050 000.

In the case of technology requirements, the BBC may involve its technology partner (Atos IT Solutions and Services Ltd) to assist in the scoping and drafting of invitations to tender and/or the evaluation of tenders. However, the final decision as to which is the most economically advantageous (by reference to the award criteria) will be made by the BBC. The awarding authority reserves the right not to award a contract and to annul the procurement process at any stage. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in sterling and all payments will be made in sterling. The contract shall be subject to English law. The awarding authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest, or any tender and reserves the right to accept part of a tender unless the tenderer expressly stipulates otherwise in the tender document.
