Abstract

CFL would like to award a Framework Agreement to a single supplier for EPIC of replacement ramp systems on the MV LOCH STRIVEN with the option to replace ramps on the MV LOCH FYNE (subject to funding).

The ramp systems are to be engineered, procured, installed and commissioned, and shall meet Classification Society & Flag State requirements.

The design approval from Classification Society and Flag State for the installation is part of the successful suppliers' deliverables.

Where possible, the ramp systems shall interface with existing vessel hardware and systems.

The ramp systems shall take into account the following;

The vessel operates in a variety of ports on the West Coast of Scotland and the Western Isles. The port infrastructure is comprised of either linkspans or slipways and is mostly protected by small harbors/piers and alignment structures.

The concrete slipways at the ports are at a gradient of 1:8.

Consideration shall be given to the port infrastructure in both Oban and Lismore.

The existing ramps act as an anchor on the port infrastructure. To achieve this, the vessel's propulsion system is kept running to keep the vessel centered on the port infrastructure.

The existing ramps weigh approximately 8000kg each
