II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Lot 1 is for the upgrade of the existing Depot Protection System currently fitted at Nottingham Eastcroft depot, inclusive of supply, install, M&E and Civils works.
The installation works will be subject to Network Rail Engineering assurance process requiring design submission. At this stage understood to be Civ003.
EMR would like to retain as much of the existing system as possible therefore any additional equipment would need to be compatiable with the existing Infrastructure.
The current depot protection control panel make use of a Mitsubishi style programable logic controller "PLC". The derailer control panels utilise printed circuit boards. The ground position shunt signals on site are Howells signals utilising xenon lamp technology. It is understood that all control equipment is now obsolete and require replacement with modern alternative.
Bidders to price to install in line with relevant NR Standards. All redundant equipment to be removed from site.
Each road to have a log on point, with central monitoring location located within shift managers office.
Depot protection system to interlock with extraction system to shed roads to activate extraction systems on train movements. Bidders responsible for making necessary connections.
There are requirements to provide interlocks with the depot roller shutter doors at either end of shed (4 roller doors in total)
The successful bidder to reutilise existing derailers at west end of the shed repositioning at 2 car markers (50m) with addition of train obstruction sensor. Bidder to allow for all associated civils and M&E work.
Derailer to east of road 4 to be retained in current position, addition of train obstruction sensor.
Installation of depot protection system to the fuel road. Protection signal to be controlled via signal and to not allow train movement whilst colleagues are 'logged on'.
Fuel road to have dedicated log on point located within close proximity.
Contractor to make allowances to issue all production staff (Circa 75) with ability to 'log on' to depot protection system. plus, passive provision for 25 spare 'log ons' for visitors

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Lot 2 is for the supply and installation of a Depot Protection System inclusive of M&E and Civils works.

Each road to have a north and south end a log on points (2 points per road).System to included central monitoring location located within shift managers office.
Roads 8-6 circa 150m, Roads 5&4 circa 170m and UFC circa 120m. All Roads feature inspection pits
Bidders to install derailer to each road with related signal equipment.
Interlocks to be added to each road to interact with roller doors. Additional interlock required to work in conjunction with jack usage on road 7. Interlock to be added to overhead crane operations over roads 8-6.
Bidder to install interlock connectivity to jacking control box and responsible for commissioning.
Passage provision for further interlocks to be added to road 8.
Depot protection system to interlock with extraction system to roads 4-8 to activate extraction systems on train movements. Bidders responsible for making necessary connections.
