Cheshire East Council have previously issued a tender to renew this bus service. The current bus services operate between Beartown and Congleton Monday to Saturday. The contract will be awarded for 12 months to align the contract end date with the rest of the supported bus network. The Congleton Local Services have been operated for over 40 years. They provide vital links for education and employment and contribute to the local economy. Patronage is approximately 85,000 passenger journeys a year and developments in the town mean that the network has scope for development and potential to become commercial. This is a call off from the Cheshire East Council Transport DPS.

That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into. The Public Contracts Regulations, 2015 (SI No 102) provides for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England,Wales and Northern Ireland).
