Abstract

Appraisal and recommendations for the future use of the Cwm Clyd Bunkhouse on behalf of the Elan Valley Trust. This project will produce a feasibility study that evaluates the viability of the existing bunkhouse site with the aim of developing the redundant bungalow and possibly repurposing the main building, giving the Trust and Cwm Clyd a solid base and road map to create an exemplar accessible, low cost and community focused facility in a rare and protected environment, rectifying past flaws and avoiding future mistakes.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The appointed consultant will:

1. Show that they fully understand our requirements in letting this contract, and are prepared to work with us in a flexible way over the contract period to best meet our needs;

2. Have a strong track record or producing similar work and relevant background knowledge.

3. Have experience in researching and developing written works and or graphic design.

4. Show that they will be able to work effectively and in a creative way with the scheme team and the wider partnership, and where appropriate will take an innovative approach to the creation of the book;

5. Be able to justify costs and provide demonstrable value for money. The appointed consultant will need also to have:

• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

• Robust management and project management arrangements

• Commitment to equalities

• The ability to take initiative and work independently

• The ability to work with a variety of people

• A willingness to travel within the scheme area and adopt flexible working patterns

Insurance

Elan Valley Trust would expect appropriate company insurance that covered public liability, employee liability and professional indemnity insurance with a guide figure of £5M cover.
